Croatia: Seven New Coronavirus Cases, Including Three Doctors

CROATIA, (Patria) - At the National Headquarters press conference on Monday morning, it was announced that seven more people have been infected in Croatia, said Minister of Health Vili Beroš. The total number is now 56.

"We are entering the third phase of the fight against coronavirus, which includes the mobilization of the health system," said Beroš, emphasizing that three doctors are infected with the virus.

Director of the Croatian Institute of Public Health Krunoslav Capak said that it is important to maintain a balance between a good epidemiological situation and the strictness and scope of measures.

"It would not be good to close everything down; life would stop and things would not be able to function. We epidemiologists must propose priority measures to the Headquarters and the Government on a daily basis," said Capak.

9,000 people are in self-isolation.

Croatia is also preparing for more rigorous measures than those currently in force.

Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović said that everything is being done to protect citizens.
