786 people infected in BiH, mass testing announced

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the covid-19.ba website, the number of infected people in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) is 424, of which 12 people have recovered and 21 have died. 3,870 samples have been tested in FBiH.

The largest number of infected people is in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton with 135, followed by Tuzla Canton with 74 cases, Sarajevo Canton with 53, West Herzegovina with 44, Una-Sana with 41, Zenica-Doboj with 35, Central Bosnia with 23, Canton 10 with 10, Posavina Canton with 3, and Bosniak-Podrinje Canton with 6.

Given the number of tests delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina and distributed to clinical centers, increased testing is expected in the coming days. The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fahrudin Radončić, also called for this today, adding that there are enough tests now, but that the experts have the final say.

In the last three days, 1,000 people have been tested in FBiH, and 95 were positive, which is almost 10% infected. The largest number of tests were performed on April 5, with 493, of which 42 were positive for Covid 19.

In Republika Srpska (RS), 346 people are infected, and 12 deaths have been recorded. Mass testing will begin in RS this week, announced the Minister of Health, Alen Šeranić. A total of 3,025 people have been tested.

In Brčko District, a total of 16 people are infected.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, stated for FTV this evening that according to the epidemiologists' forecast, the peak of the epidemic is expected in the coming weeks, but that the most important thing is for citizens to adhere to the adopted measures and avoid contact as much as possible.
