Aid from Hungary and Slovenia arrives in BiH today

(Patria) - A plane with aid from Hungary is arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina today. The aid is being brought by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who will hold a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Bisera Turković, and the Minister of Security, Fahrudin Radončić.

After that, Szijjarto will continue his journey to Banja Luka, and part of the aid for the RS is expected to arrive in Banja Luka around 4 p.m.

Member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik earlier announced that medical aid for the fight against the coronavirus would arrive from Hungary to the Republika Srpska and that the Foreign Minister of that country, Peter Szijjarto, would accompany the humanitarian aid. However, in the end, aid from Hungary is arriving for the whole of BiH, not just one entity.

The contingent of aid from Hungary includes ventilators, protective gloves, masks, and other medical equipment necessary for the fight against the coronavirus.

Humanitarian aid worth 133,000 euros sent by the Republic of Slovenia will also arrive today at the warehouse of the Republika Srpska Republic Civil Protection Administration in East Sarajevo.

The decision on the aforementioned bilateral aid to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic was made at the session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on April 9.

The cargo vehicle with aid supplies upon arrival and handover will be greeted by the head of the EU delegation in Sarajevo, Ambassador Johann Sattler, the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zorica Bukinac, the military attaché Colonel Žarko Henigman, expert associate Ivona Filipović, and the Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Samir Rizvo.
