In Belgrade, with Chetnik songs, a museum opened for war criminal Draža Mihailović

(Patria) - A large number of citizens, singing Chetnik songs, gathered today in Belgrade's Bregalnička Street for the opening of a museum and monument to the Chetnik leader and war criminal Dragoljub Draža Mihailović.

Reporter for Danas reports that ahead of the start of this event, a huge number of citizens prevented news crews from reaching the ceremony site itself, where flags of Serbia and T-shirts with the image of Draža Mihailović are being sold for 1,500 dinars (about 25 BAM).

The opening was attended by Mihailović's grandson Vojislav, president of the Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia, and priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Among those present were Miša Vacić, Mlađa Đorđević, and Matija Bećković.

- We have returned to our faith and nation just as our Draža returned to his home. Draža is alive, he has not died - said Igor Braunović.

"Never, nowhere, and at no cost was there any collaboration with the occupier," Matija Bećković quoted Draža Mihailović.

- That monument is not needed for him, but for us, for our peace and reconciliation. If the word that there is no true glory without humiliation and suffering has come true anywhere, it has come true in his fate - added Bećković.

Those present shouted "for the king and the fatherland." To the song of the guslar Marko, those gathered bowed to the criminal Draža Mihailović.

The official part of the program ended with the verses of Miljan Miljanić "general, general, oh where are you now brother, before your falcons, we would not be without Kosovo."
