Meeting on the distribution of former SFRY assets to be held in Belgrade

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has tasked the authorized representative of BiH in the Joint Committee for the Implementation of Annex B of the Agreement on Succession Issues of the former SFRY to continue the initiated activities on the implementation of the obligations from this annex and the conclusions from the first part of the 19th meeting of the Joint Committee for the distribution of diplomatic-consular assets of the former SFRY, which was held in Belgrade in December last year.

The Information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the joint sale of assets in New York, Bonn, Bern, and Tokyo, which the Committee initiated in the previous period, had a high priority on the agenda of discussions due to the numerous activities that need to be carried out in order to realize the sale and distribution of the obtained funds as soon as possible.

Among other things, the meeting supported the work of the Expert Group for the distribution of works of art. Opinions were also exchanged on the current situation regarding the distribution of assets in Brasilia, New Delhi, and Moscow, and it was concluded that discussions regarding these assets would continue after additional information is collected. 

Due to the extensive agenda and the complexity of the topics discussed, the 19th meeting will be continued, as planned, in March 2018 in Belgrade.
