Brawl in the Kosovo Assembly, opposition MPs attack Kurti while he was addressing

(Patria) - Unpleasant scenes occurred in the Kosovo Assembly, starting with a physical attack on Prime Minister Albin Kurti while he was addressing MPs from the podium.

He was physically attacked by an MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, after which chaos and a mass brawl ensued.

First, MP Mergim Lushtaku threw water at Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, then Finance Minister Hekuran Murati was physically attacked.

Following the clash, the live broadcast from the Kosovo Assembly was interrupted.

In recent days, as well as during this session, the opposition has been critical of the government, because media in Kosovo published audio recordings of the head of the Self-Determination Movement's parliamentary group, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, where she admits to having spoken with the Vice President of the Serbian List, Milan Radoičić, reports Radio Free Europe.

Kosovo authorities are searching for Milan Radoičić, Vice President of the Serbian List, and he is also on the U.S. blacklist for "involvement in international organized crime."

He is wanted on suspicion of being involved in witness intimidation in the court case known as "Brezovica."

A second warrant was issued for Radoičić in 2022 in the "Brezovica" case, which concerns illegal construction, and in which Serbian List official Bratislav Nikolić is also implicated. In that case, the Prosecutor's Office from Uroševac charges him with "witness intimidation."

The first warrant was issued in 2019 and links Radoičić to the murder case of Oliver Ivanović, leader of the Civic Initiative Freedom, Democracy, Justice. Ivanović was killed with multiple gunshots in front of the party's headquarters in North Mitrovica on January 16, 2018.

Before being attacked, Kurti spoke in the Assembly about Radoičić and how the warrant for him was withdrawn in 2021, a few days before the formation of his government.

"When there were previous governments, this main criminal was in Mitrovica, he was in Pristina. Now our contribution is that he is in a hotel on Kopaonik, in Serbia."

However, the warrant for Milan Radoičić was withdrawn in March 2021 without any explanation.
