Tragedy in Belgrade: Two teenagers drowned at a popular swimming spot

(Patria) - Members of the Gendarmerie Diving Unit of Serbia pulled the lifeless bodies of two sixteen-year-old youths from the lake at the Belgrade swimming spot Ada Ciganlija.

As stated in the announcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, the police were previously notified around 5:30 PM that a larger group of high school graduates had entered the lake at Ada Ciganlija, and that two individuals had not resurfaced.

Police patrols, as well as the Gendarmerie Diving Unit, were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident and began the search.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia once again reiterated its appeal to children and parents not to enter the lake at Ada Ciganlija, as they are risking their lives in this way.

"We note that the swimming season has not opened at Ada Ciganlija and therefore there is no duty rescue service at this location," stated the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
