Tomislav Karamarko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia, resigned today, and called for Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković and Deputy Prime Minister Božo Petrov to do the same, Croatian media report, as carried by Patria.
- I am satisfied and dissatisfied with the Commission's decision. Dissatisfied because they determined a conflict of interest, and satisfied because the conflict was determined in the Government session for which no minutes were kept. They actually determined that I have an opinion on some issues. I think this decision was forced by some pressure and that I will contest the decision in the Constitutional Court - Karamarko said at a press conference.
The Commission for Deciding on Conflicts of Interest decided today by a majority vote that Karamarko was in a conflict of interest regarding Croatia's withdrawal from arbitration with MOL.
