Tegeltija held consultations: Serbia does not need BiH's assistance at this moment

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija stated this afternoon that the position of the Government of Serbia is that the country currently does not need assistance, and that the health sector is capable of providing an adequate level of healthcare in Novi Pazar by sending medical workers from Kragujevac, Kraljevo and other cities in that country.

"And they estimate that in the next two to three days, doctors who were infected with the coronavirus in Novi Pazar will be ready to return to work. Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić expressed a request that, if additional assistance is needed, they will turn to BiH, but that at this moment assistance is not needed," said Tegeltija to reporters in East Sarajevo.

He noted that the mayor of Novi Pazar sent a request to the Chairman of the Presidency Šefik Džaferović for assistance in medical staff, primarily doctors, due to the worsened situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic.

"Džaferović forwarded that document to the Council of Ministers and we held consultations. The Government of the Federation of BiH expressed readiness to send two teams of medical workers, each with ten doctors, to Novi Pazar. After consultations with the Government of Serbia, Brnabić thanked BiH for its readiness to provide medical assistance to the hospital in Novi Pazar," Tegeltija emphasized.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH has already sent a note to Serbia expressing readiness to send assistance.
