SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Member of the Jewish community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, historian Eli Tauber, said that the statement by Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović that Bosnia and Herzegovina is under the control of militant Islam is not true.
„If President Grabar-Kitarović's claim were true, I don't know how I would move through the streets of my city,“ Tauber told the Patria News Agency.
„What the Croatian President mentions is merely Croatia's foreign policy, which continues with the aim of belittling Bosnia and Herzegovina before Europe,“ Tauber assessed.
The Jerusalem Post writes that during her visit to Israel, the Croatian President spoke about the problems of the migrant crisis. Grabar-Kitarović noted that her country is suffering due to the migrant problem, which is not entirely similar to that in much of Europe. She distinguishes migrants from refugees, saying that Croatia is ready to grant asylum to refugees, but also that migrants seeking a better way of life must respect international borders. Migrants actually do not want to stay in Croatia, she said, but only to reach Germany.
Although almost all claim to be Syrian refugees, they are mostly African or Pakistani migrants trying to cross the border from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which Grabar-Kitarović stated is very unstable and, in a certain sense, has been taken over by people connected to Iran and terrorist organizations.
