Meeting with Cormack: Ivanić concerned about the creation of a negative environment between BiH and Serbia

Member of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić met today with the US Ambassador to BiH Maureen E. Cormack, the BiH Presidency announced, reports the Patria News Agency.

The meeting discussed general political conditions in BiH, and prospects for resolving some of the current open issues, especially amendments to the Statute of the City of Mostar, in order to comply with the Constitutional Court's Decision, and reaching an agreement on amendments to the Election Law and the publication of the 2014 population census results.

The need to continue reform processes necessary for meeting the conditions for obtaining candidate status in the EU was emphasized. The possibilities of activating the Membership Action Plan for NATO (MAP) were also discussed.

Ivanić expressed concern about the creation of a negative political environment recently, especially regarding the relations between BiH and Serbia. He emphasized that it is necessary for all leading political actors to take responsibility and work on calming the situation and improving mutual relations and cooperation, the statement said.
