Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina suspends extradition proceedings against Mamić to Croatia

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has decided to suspend the extradition proceedings against Zdravko Mamić to the Republic of Croatia, his lawyer Ivica Rajić confirmed today. Mamić has Bosnian citizenship and will remain in BiH until further notice. He is obliged to inform the Court of BiH of any change of address. Mamić is a free citizen in BiH. In Croatia, he has been sentenced to 6.5 years in prison.

After the hearing, Mamić addressed the public and said he was surprised that journalists had not asked important questions to the Croatian Minister of Justice.

- I can move freely throughout BiH. I have tried for the 101st time to reflect on why all this is happening to me. I am surprised that you, journalists, who are the corrective force of any government, no one asks the Minister of Justice, tell me whether Mr. Mišković had the authority for that. They claim that Dinamo was harmed, Dinamo claims it was not. So how is that possible? - Mamić said, as reported by N1 television.

I will not defend myself at all anymore, I will not say anything, he added.

- I simply wonder what part I am and of which project? Everything that can be violated in one country has been violated for Zdravko Mamić. Debates are constantly held on social networks, whether in my country, in my Croatia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, my second country, the state functions on the basis of the Constitution. Imagine your children being operated on by butchers? I don't know whose account this is, the State Attorney's Office has violated all possible laws that exist - he stated.

He said that after the Court's decision, he would go to Međugorje.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced on Friday that it had suspended the extradition proceedings against Dinamo's advisor Zdravko Mamić to the Republic of Croatia, stating that the incriminations that the Croatian judiciary attributes to him were committed before the signing of the Agreement between the two countries on international legal assistance in criminal matters, reports Patria agency.

"The Court, taking into account all submitted documentation and the fact that the criminal acts that constitute the elements of the criminal offense for which the named person is sought and for which he has been convicted non-final, were committed before the signing of the Agreement, made a decision to suspend the extradition proceedings," the statement from the Court of BiH reads.
