Last night around 2:30 AM, wind collapsed a 40-meter high antenna mast at Paljenik on Mount Vlašić, at an altitude of 1933 meters.
The UHF signal of Federal Television and OBN is broadcast from this system, owned by BHRT, and will not be able to be broadcast from this transmitter until further notice. According to a BHRT reporter, BH Telecom's GSM equipment was also damaged.
Police teams have arrived at the site of the antenna collapse and are conducting an investigation. According to initial estimates, the damage amounts to nearly 300,000 BAM, and it is much greater if the interruption in program broadcasting is taken into account.
A technical team from Sarajevo has also arrived, and a plan is currently being made to put an auxiliary antenna system into operation in order to resume the interrupted program broadcasting.
The signal from Paljenik is broadcast for a larger part of Bosnia.
