Serbian media on Karadžić - Blic: "Life sentence for war criminal"

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The final verdict for Radovan Karadžić was also covered by Serbian media, but not with the intensity and content as some earlier Hague verdicts.

On the front page of the Serbian public broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia, besides information about the verdict and text indicating they followed the pronouncement live, there were no extensive news reports. Apart from the opinions of legal experts, there were no other reactions.

In Serbian public opinion, by the time this text was written, there were no reactions from the leadership of Vučić's SNS.

The tabloid Kurir dedicated slightly more space to the verdict. Along with the text about the verdict, they included a reaction from Vojislav Šešelj, an article about Karadžić's behavior during the pronouncement of the verdict, and information about minor incidents in front of the court before the verdict.

Telegraf, along with information about the verdict, published a reaction from LDP leader Čedomir Jovanović, and a report on how Sarajevans received the verdict against Karadžić. They also included reactions from Karadžić's lawyer, as well as Šešelj and Sergej Trifunović.

B92 reported similarly, which, in addition to several reactions from Serbia, also included reports from world media about Karadžić.

Blic published the verdict against Karadžić under the headline "Life sentence for the butcher", with the continuation "Karadžić's verdict main news in the Balkans". This media outlet also included reactions from Serbia, as well as from Croatia, Europe, and messages from the chief Hague prosecutor.
