Customs officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority at the Pavlović Bridge border crossing seized 2,700 packs of smuggled cigarettes today, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
Today at 9:30 AM, a passenger motor vehicle, an Alfa Romeo, driven by a citizen of the Republic of Serbia with the initials M.J., was stopped at the Pavlović Bridge border crossing between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia.
During a detailed inspection of the vehicle, customs officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority found 2,700 packs of Marlboro cigarettes in hidden compartments, which were being attempted to be smuggled into Bosnia and Herzegovina. As the discovered offense also has characteristics of a criminal offense, the Department for Enforcement of Regulations at the Regional Center of the ITA in Tuzla was informed to take further action as ordered by the competent Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
