Executive Director of CeSID Bojan Klačar stated that around 15,000 signatures were falsified in the pre-election campaign in Serbia. As he stated, this indicates an organized or semi-organized system, reports the Patria News Agency.
"This really doesn't look like the work of an individual," Klačar told Pink, emphasizing that signature forgery is a criminal offense.
Speaking about the 10,000 falsified signatures of the Republican Party, as determined by the Republican Electoral Commission (RIK) after the adoption of that list, Klačar said that no one should be allowed to enter the electoral process and added that certain conditions must be established.
According to him, such criminal acts have hardly been seen in our practice so far, although there have been cases of attempts by certain parties to enter parliament by exploiting shortcomings in the regulations.
Klačar believes that the RIK will have to resort to "extraordinary rules" to resolve the situation regarding signature forgery and assessed that the commission will not have problems with pending lists and will manage to complete everything within the deadline. He assessed that the campaign so far has been "lukewarm, without major topics and conflicts, with few reasoned debates, where hardly anyone dares to come out with firm positions."
