(Patria) - After police officers responded this morning to a report of a man carrying a bomb, it was determined that the bomb was inert, the Split police have learned.
The police announced that at around 9:30 AM, they received a report that a man was walking around a building saying he had an empty bomb in his hand.
Police officers were dispatched to the scene, the area was secured, and officers from the Special and Intervention Police Unit were engaged.
"Contact was made with the man, who handed over the body of the bomb, without explosive filling, to the police officers," it was added.
The police resolved the situation on the ground, and there was no danger to citizens. A search of the man's home and premises is underway, and he has been arrested and taken for medical assistance.
A criminal investigation is in progress.
