Spahiu for NAP: White House missed opportunity for final step between Kosovo and Serbia

Regarding what was specifically signed, Spahiu points out that “the agreement is not concrete, and it contains some points that have already been signed in Brussels.”

“There is nothing new, except that Kosovo receives recognition from Israel. Everything else has been agreed upon, the agreement itself is positive and the fact that it was signed in the White House, but it is a very small step towards a final comprehensive agreement,” says Spahiu.

He believes that this meeting in Washington was a unique opportunity to take the final step in a political sense between Kosovo and Serbia, but the Serbian president, as he says, backed down at the crucial moment.

“We have one small step forward, not a big one as was expected in an agreement where the most powerful man in the world is also present,” Spahiu added.
