SNSD and HDZ voted against the equality of Serbs in cantons with a Croatian majority

SARAJevo, (Patria) – The House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the initiative of Denis Bećirović, by which the House of Representatives of the PSBiH calls on the competent authorities of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Canton 10, West Herzegovina Canton, and Posavina Canton to, no later than 30 days from the adoption of this initiative in the House of Representatives of the PSBiH, amend and supplement the constitutions of the mentioned cantons with the aim of ensuring the constitutional equality of Serbs, as well as to specify and ensure the constitutional equality of the Bosnian and Serbian languages, and Latin and Cyrillic scripts in the cantonal constitutions where this has not been done so far.

Representatives of SNSD and HDZ BiH voted against such an initiative.

“SNSD against the constitutionality of Serbs in three cantons with a Croatian majority,” wrote SDS representative in the BiH Parliament Aleksandra Pandurević, who supported the initiative, and it was also supported by other representatives from the Alliance for Change, reports the Patria agency.

The initiative of SDP representative Bećirović was also supported by representatives of SDA, SBB, DF, Independent Bloc, BPS, and HDZ 1990.

"Today, all political hypocrisy came to light. SNSD and HDZ voted against Denis Bećirović's initiative, which calls for the equality of the Serb people, language, and Cyrillic script where the constitutions do not recognize it," said representative Saša Magazinović.
