(Patria) - A snowstorm caused problems throughout Slovenia during the night and this morning, with the most snow recorded in Kredarica near Triglav, where a meter and a half of snow fell, making the depth of the snow cover 180 centimeters in that location.
According to the Slovenian Press Agency STA, there has been a partial suspension of traffic on some roads due to snow, and the section of the highway from Primorska to Ljubljana, between Kastelac and Kozina, is closed due to strong winds.
A large amount of snow fell in the Notranjska and Kočevsko regions, as well as in parts of central Slovenia, while there is no snow cover only in some parts of Gorenjska, reported the portal 24ur.com.
According to data from the Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief, the most interventions were recorded in Slovenj Gradec, followed by Celje, Ljubljana, Maribor, and Ptuj.
A total of 17 fire brigades were dispatched to remove fallen trees from roads.
One tree fell on the municipality of Slovenska Bistrica, while trees also fell on power lines, leaving some households without electricity, in the area between Mežica and Maribor in northeastern Slovenia.
In the capital city of Ljubljana, the snow cover is four centimeters deep.
