Footage of the Old Bridge's destruction cannot disturb the idyll: Neretva waters 'Croatian flowers'

Imagine a foreign minister of any country who responds to “bots” on social media within five minutes, yet remains silent after the release of footage that, among other evidence, confirms and proves aggression by a neighbouring state. If you cannot imagine such a person, Google the name Elmedin Konaković. That is exactly what this minister looks like. Aside from the fact that he diplomatically refuses to speak about the aggression of the Republic of Croatia against Bosnia and Herzegovina on HRT, he no longer dares to do so even on his Facebook page.

Edin Forto, leader of Our Party, which handed over Mostar to the HDZ, also mixed up his mother tongue lessons. That is why he still does not know how and in which language to announce that the time for reconciliation has come and that we do not have to look at recent history every day. Nor did the Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Stojanović, obsessed with cheering for Grobari and a view of the sea from the Croatian coast, manage, in his capacity as an official, to say anything about the new footage of the Old Bridge's destruction. And the President of the Federation, Lidija Bradara, certainly does not renounce her friends, whether they destroy bridges or kill civilians in Ahmići.

For the sake of our future, Elmedin Konaković does not want to speak in Croatia about Croatian aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the sake of our future, Elmedin Konaković did not go to Ahmići to mark the anniversary of the crime. It took fifteen hours even for the most independent media in Croatia to “verify” facts that the Hague Tribunal had established years earlier. Imagine if the situation were different. Because in Sarajevo, it is cool to debate whether 1,601 children were killed during the siege or whether that number is (in)significantly lower. And in Zagreb, even court-established facts about the UZP cannot be published until the “authenticity of the video” filmed by – Zagreb is verified.
