Lower turnout than in 2015: Croatia elects 151 representatives

For the second time in ten months, about 3.8 million voters in Croatia and abroad are going to the polls again to prematurely elect a new composition of the Croatian Parliament and decide who will have the majority in it, and thus get the opportunity to form a new government and lead the country for the next four years.

151 representatives are being elected, 140 in ten electoral districts in Croatia, three in the XI. electoral district, in 49 countries around the world, where the 'diaspora' or Croatian citizens residing abroad are voting. Eight representatives are elected by national minorities in the XII. district, which consists of the whole of Croatia.

Turnout by 11:30 AM is lower than in November 2015. At that time, 21.55 percent of voters went to the polls. According to today's data from the State Election Commission (DIP), 18.86 percent of voters had voted by 11:30 AM, which is about 45 thousand fewer than last year. The highest turnout is in Karlovac County.
