Syria or Serbia - that is the question now

No one has explained the state of the Serbian people's spirit more precisely, realistically, or honestly than the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Mektić, in a joke about a Serb at the US border.

After the border guard asked him upon entering America: "Syria?"

"No, no Syria - Serbia, Serbia."

"Aaaa, Serbia! Ratko Mladić! Radovan Karadžić!" the border guard exclaimed.

"Aaaa, no, no Serbia! - Syria! Syria," replied the guest from Serbia.

The joke was met with laughter among SDS members and only later provoked protests. This showed the spiritual content of our neighbors, previously unknown to us. One face is shown in public, and another is kept within one's own national circle. This is likely happening under the pressure of the regime in Republika Srpska and radical forces still politically active in Serbia.

The question is: why must an entire nation be exposed to the crimes of a group of monsters? The crimes and genocide in Srebrenica, 22 years later, are being billed to the Serbian people, even though the perpetrators have names and surnames, and for the most part, their verdicts? The cruelest bandits and a criminal system hide behind a people who suffered, precisely because of the same regime and the same criminals.

A local politician from the Swiss canton of Ticino was recently convicted for denying the genocide in Srebrenica. Judges Giovanni Roggero, Giovanni Celio, and Marco Frigerio convicted Donatello Poggi in the second instance for denying the genocide committed against Bosniaks by the army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska in Srebrenica in 1995.

Major world powers such as the United States Congress, the European Parliament, the Parliament of Great Britain, the Parliament of Canada, and dozens of world parliaments have successively passed resolutions on the crime of genocide in Srebrenica. Therefore, the whole world recognizes and condemns the Srebrenica genocide, except for the local thugs from Republika Srpska and Serbia. For whose interests does the whole world go in one direction, and the politics of Serbs in another?

A shameful, pathetic decision was made this week by the judge of the Basic Court in Višegrad, Dana Plečić, when she scheduled a hearing in the case of Emir Nemanja Kusturica's lawsuit against the former mayor of Srebrenica, Ćamil Duraković, for July 11, the day of the commemoration in Potočari and the funeral for more than 60 Srebrenica victims.

We have already heard the no less shameful reaction of the mayor of Srebrenica, Mladen Grujičić, who said that he "cannot recognize the genocide when it did not happen."

- They want to force the Serbian people to admit something that did not happen - Grujičić said naively and in vain, following the same pattern as his mentors.

Germany, 20 years after World War II, began to emerge as a global moral vertical. Young generations of Germans came who renounced Hitler and his fascist ideas, who publicly acknowledged and condemned the Holocaust and numerous other crimes of Nazism. From this new German chapter, one of the world's most powerful economic forces began to emerge. Germans turned a new page in their lives. Today, Germany is one of the leading economies and a model for the democratic world.

In Republika Srpska and neighboring Serbia, swindlers keep turning the same page, with the same story about the Political Court in The Hague, about an unjust world that has conspired against Serbs and fabricated crimes... Evidence is futile. Truth is futile. But all this mockery of facts is billed to the entire nation. Criminals, their families, and the regime that rehabilitates them from time to time, live very well and profit at the expense of the deceived masses and empty stories.

The shortened joke would be: Syria or Serbia, that is the question now?
