Šeranić: 11 out of 448 tested persons positive for COVID-19

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - 392 people have been infected with coronavirus in the entity of Republika Srpska, and the number of newly infected is 11 people, said the Minister of Health and Social Protection Alen Šeranić at today's press conference. 

He added that 110 people have recovered as of this morning. 

“In the last 24 hours, 448 people were tested, including healthcare workers and people who are finishing their isolation at the Student Center in Banja Luka, which currently houses 123 people. 
Regarding new cases of infection, these are six middle-aged men and five women, mostly middle-aged and elderly. Eight people are from Banja Luka, one each from Čelinac, and with residences in Kalinovik and Istočna Ilidža,” said Šeranić.

He added that it was determined that two people were infected due to close contact with COVID-19 positive individuals, two are linked to family clusters, while others do not know how they got infected.

“That is why the measure of using masks and gloves in public spaces was introduced, because the virus is circulating in the community,” said the Minister of Health and Social Protection of RS.

Šeranić says that five patients are currently on ventilators at the University Clinical Center of RS, and among the general hospitals in RS, only Gradiška and Prijedor do not have patients undergoing treatment.

6,288 people are under health supervision in RS, and 16,272 people have been released from health supervision.

In RS, 14 people have died from the consequences of coronavirus infection to date.
