SDA: Schmidt must not, in coordination with Zagreb, commit further violence against the FBiH Constitution

(Patria) - SDA strongly opposes the intentions of the High Representative for BiH, Christian Schmidt, to impose additional decisions whose sole aim is to bypass the will of the Bosniak Club in forming the government in the Federation of BiH.

- We demand that the High Representative and his office immediately cease the secret talks they are conducting with a part of the political parties, the details of which have leaked to the public, and abandon the imposition of new decisions. We justifiably suspect that these talks are also being conducted in coordination with official Zagreb, as was the case during the imposition of the solution on election night. With that decision, the High Representative, instead of imposing sanctions for the blockade of the implementation of election results from the previous term, rewarded HDZ BiH and strengthened their position, SDA states and adds:

- According to the Constitution, the government in the Federation of BiH is appointed by consensus by representatives of Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs elected in the caucuses of peoples, and their agreement is confirmed by the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament.

They add that the attempt to enable, through one-off solutions, the federal government to be appointed by representatives of Croats and Serbs, without Bosniaks, destroys the balance that protects the rights of constituent peoples, in this case the Bosniaks who make up over 70 percent of the citizens of the Federation of BiH.

- We ask the member countries of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) to stop the OHR in its intention to commit new violence against the Constitution of the Federation and the Election Law of BiH, thereby further deepening the crisis and causing unforeseeable consequences by provoking a justified revolt of hundreds of thousands of voters whose will the High Representative intends to nullify through classic electoral engineering, SDA concludes.
