Salkić in Dubai: There is interest in investing in BiH

Ramiz Salkić, the Vice-President of the BiH entity RS, is participating in the international investment forum Annual Investment Meeting 2016 in Dubai, where on Monday, April 11, 2016, he attended the opening of the International Property Show 2016, which features over 300 exhibitors from one hundred countries worldwide.

Within this year's Annual Investment Meeting, a series of investment conferences will be held, and in cooperation with the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), meetings will be arranged for Vice-President Salkić with high-ranking officials and potential investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the first day of the Fair, Vice-President Salkić met with Sultan bin Saeed Almansoori, the Minister of Economy of the UAE, with whom he discussed current investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the possibilities for their improvement. Significant progress is necessary in this area, primarily in promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina and its potentials, as well as the opportunities for accepting foreign investments.

There is interest in investing in BiH, but there are many ambiguities, obstacles, and barriers to investment. Therefore, it is necessary to take steps to facilitate the arrival of large investments. The visa system creates a significant problem, slowing down the arrival of investors in our country.

- Minister Almansoori expressed particular interest in the construction of airport infrastructure in our country. Bosnia and Herzegovina has excellent chances in this area, as it is located in a particularly interesting region, primarily as a center for regional tourism development, but also as an important hub for air traffic, as it can effectively connect the East and West. Also, there is interest in building a port in Neum and launching significant investments in food production. The Minister pointed out the major problem investors have with obtaining visas to enter BiH - said Vice-President Salkić.

He thanked Minister Almansoori for the assistance that the UAE has provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina so far.

In addition to Vice-President Salkić, the discussion was attended by Ibro Berilo, Mayor of Trnovo Municipality, and Hamdija Efendić, Director of the Development Planning Institute of Sarajevo Canton, as well as Ismail Ahmed, Director of Buroj Ozon company.

The International Property Show 2016 runs from April 11 to April 13, 2016.
