Brothers played for opposing teams: Swiss defeat Albania 1-0

Football teams of Switzerland and Albania played a match of Group A today at the Felix Bollaert stadium in Lens. In their debut appearance, Albania was defeated by the Swiss 1-0, writes the Patria News Agency.

The Albanians showed good play on the field. However, in the end, the minimal defeat, when all is considered, was contributed to by a red card due to which the Albanians played the second half with one player less, a mistake by the goalkeeper at the very beginning when the Swiss scored the only, but winning goal, and numerous missed chances by the Albanian national team players.

For the first time in the history of European championships, it happened that two brothers played against each other. Taulanta Xhaka played for Albania, while Granit Xhaka played for Switzerland.
