
The Rais al-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, began a two-day visit to Croatia today, where he will attend programs marking the 100th anniversary of the official recognition of Islam in the Republic of Croatia, reports the Patria News Agency.
The Rais al-ulama arrived in Zagreb last night, accompanied by the Director of the Administration for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Razim-ef. Čolić, the Mufti of Tuzla, Vahid-ef. Fazlović, and the President of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Serbia, Dr. Mevlud-ef. Dudić. He was welcomed in front of the Islamic Center in Zagreb by the President of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Croatia, Mufti Dr. Aziz-ef. Hasanović, and his associates.
Today, Reis Kavazović will participate in the conference "Muslims in Europe – Heritage and Future," attended by religious leaders of Muslim communities in Europe and high-level delegations from the Islamic world.
Reis Kavazović will speak at the opening session of the Conference. In addition to him, the participants will be addressed by Dr. Mehmet Gormez, President of the Islamic Diyanet of Turkey, then the special envoy of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Mr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz bin Zeid, then the special guest from Iran, Ayatollah Muhammed Ali Et-Teshiri, and the presidents and religious leaders of Islamic communities in the Balkans and Europe.
- I wish that a great initiative to find solutions for Muslim issues and communities in Europe starts from Zagreb on this great jubilee, said Mufti of the Islamic Community in Croatia, Dr. Aziz-ef. Hasanović, welcoming the attendees in Zagreb, according to the statement.
