Reiner: Croatia and BiH can resolve all open issues

Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Željko Reiner is on an official visit to BiH, and at a press conference held, he stated that BiH and Croatia can reach an agreement on open issues that will satisfy both sides, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

He stated that at the meeting with representatives of both houses of the BiH Parliament, they discussed economic relations because they have "weakened a bit last year, and there is no reason for that".

- We believe that they can be significantly increased, that investments of one country in the other can be increased. More than 200 Croatian companies have representative offices in BiH, and 86 BiH companies have their representative offices in Croatia. This can be increased, as can trade exchange. We discussed infrastructure and energy projects, which would be significant not only for BiH and Croatia, but for Southeastern and Central Europe - Reiner said.

He emphasized that Croatia is fighting for the equal rights of all three constituent peoples in BiH.

- Croatia also has a constitutional obligation to care for Croats in BiH. Croatia supports and will continue to support the European path of BiH, especially now that it has been set by submitting the official application for EU membership. We are available with all the experience we gained after the negotiations for EU accession, as well as with all the documents we had to have - he said.

The Speaker of the Croatian Parliament emphasized that Croatia is in favour of a sovereign, functional, and integral BiH that is moving towards the European Union.

- Croatia is wholeheartedly available to Bosnia and Herzegovina on this path - he concluded.
