RCC Promotes Balkan Monument Trail and Regional Tourist Routes in Belgrade

(Patria) - "We are extremely pleased to have used the International Tourism Fair in Belgrade to officially mark the launch of a new joint regional cultural tourism route called the Balkan Monument Trail," said Snježana Dervišakadić, leader of the project team for tourism development and promotion at the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).

"The Balkan Monument Trail seeks to revive the art, design, and architecture of monuments dedicated to World War II, created across the Western Balkans between the 1950s and 1990s, and to offer a new tourism product to both foreign and regional tourists seeking a unique cultural experience."

The International Tourism Fair is the largest fair of its kind in Southeast Europe, gathering around 900 exhibitors from 50 economies and 65,000 visitors, of whom about 12,000 are company representatives and 1,000 are media representatives. 

In addition to launching the Balkan Monument Trail at the International Tourism Fair, the Regional Cooperation Council is hosting the Western Balkans – Powered by RCC stand from February 20th to 23rd, where about ten operators from the region are promoting and selling their best cultural and adventure tourism tours, covering different parts of the Balkans, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, through Montenegro and Serbia, to North Macedonia, Kosovo*, and Albania.

The promotion of the Western Balkans at the International Tourism Fair was enabled by the tourism development and promotion project implemented by the Regional Cooperation Council, funded by the European Union, which works on developing and promoting new joint regional cultural and adventure tourism routes, and on increasing tourism revenue and employment in this sector.
