Regarding the call for the unification of Albania and Kosovo, Belgrade has undertaken a series of diplomatic actions on the international stage: a protest note has been sent to Albania, a letter to the UN Security Council, and appropriate instructions have been given to all missions and embassies abroad, reports the Patria News Agency.
As reported by Serbian media, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, due to the unacceptable statements by Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of Albania, a démarche was delivered to the country's ambassador in Belgrade, emphasizing that Rama's positions are unacceptable for Serbia, that the statement represents another in a series of provocative statements by the highest political representatives of Albania that harm bilateral relations between the two countries and endanger overall relations and stability in the region.
- This is a dangerous call to redraw international, recognized borders between countries in the region. The statement by the Prime Minister of Albania is contrary to the repeatedly expressed commitment of both countries to the development of good neighborliness, cooperation, mutual understanding, and a common future in the EU - said the head of Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dačić.
He also emphasized that Serbia expects its partners in the international community to support the condemnation of the Albanian Prime Minister's statements that harm peace and stability in the region.
