Radončić calls candidate statements on Bosniak Muslims unacceptable

(Patria) - Scaring Bosniak Muslims is unacceptable, wrote the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fahrudin Radončić on his Instagram profile, reacting to the latest statements by candidates for the President of Croatia - Zoran Milanović and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović during a TV debate. 

"It is truly state-level and morally unacceptable that candidates for the President of the Republic of Croatia persistently and tendentiously see an additional danger of terrorism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 'because Muslims live there'. Bringing Bosniaks into such a context, and after the genocide that was committed, is truly not a good-neighborly act. BiH is a very responsible member of the anti-terrorist alliance, and our intelligence service (OSA) and police agencies at all levels have done and are constantly doing great work.

Scaring one's voters with potential terrorism from BiH and pretending to be the guardian of the EU against us says much more about political tendencies in Croatia than about the Muslims here, or rather Bosniaks. Terrorism is a global evil, and linking it to one religion, nation, or country is politically very ugly and unacceptable. Therefore, it would be good, especially for whoever wins the race for the President of the Republic of Croatia in the end, to refrain from this type of populism and unnecessary insult to members of a faith that, among other things, also exists in Croatia and makes its multi-ethnic image more beautiful and better. This is one more reason why sincere interstate and security cooperation is needed, not deception," wrote Radončić.
