The President of the Serb National Council (SNV) and Vice-President of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) Milorad Pupovac on Saturday condemned the inflammatory performances of Vojislav Šešelj and the burning of the Croatian state flag in Serbia, but asserted that some in Croatia had "eagerly awaited" this, reports the Patria News Agency.
"Despite the efforts of the authorities there to isolate him and limit his public space, some here served as a kind of megaphone for what could not be heard in Serbia," Pupovac said on the Croatian Radio show "Intervju tjedna" (Interview of the Week). He added that Šešelj, as an instigator and purveyor of hatred, should be isolated.
He believes that Šešelj's return from The Hague has seriously harmed relations between Croatia and Serbia, which, he says, had been progressing after the inauguration of President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, which was also attended by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić.
