First blockades by the House of Peoples' Croat and Serb Clubs: They do not want discussion on Serbia's Defense Strategy!

SARAJevo, (Patria) - An emergency session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH is being held in Sarajevo. Denis Bećirović requested that the agenda be supplemented and include Information on the anti-Dayton national defense strategy of Serbia and its detrimental effect on BiH.

However, the proposal was rejected by votes from the Croat and Serb Clubs. Nine delegates voted against it.

“I believe it is not good to superficially overlook this. It is logical for the highest legislative body to comment on it. Even worse is the fact that in Serbia's National Defense Strategy, a part of BiH is designated as a zone of special importance for Serbia's defense. Not even Slobodan Milošević's regime did that. It is important that a message is heard from this building that this cannot be done. It is important that we send a message to our colleagues in Serbia and ask how they would behave if neighboring countries treated them that way,” said Bećirović.

He also stated that they have an obligation to call on the High Representative to react, but there was no majority in the House of Peoples of the PA BiH for this proposal. This is the first evidence that Croats and Serbs are allowed to block whatever they wish in the House of Peoples.

We remind you that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska elected delegates from that entity who will perform the duties of deputies in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH in the next term; the results of that part of the indirect elections for that legislative body on December 7, 2018, were also confirmed by the Central Election Commission (CEC).

Thus, from the Serb people, the aforementioned duties are performed by Nikola Špirić, Sredoje Nović, Dušanka Majkić, and Lazar Prodanović from SNSD, as well as Mladen Bosić, who is a member of SDS.

SDA secured the key to legislative power for HDZ and SNSD.

SDA deputies in the NSRS supported the SNSD candidate instead of the SDP's, thereby giving a very important lever for decision-making. Thanks to them, Milorad Dodik decides on all processes in the country alone.

An additional delegate was added to SNSD and HDZ each in the House of Peoples, and these two parties now have 8 out of a total of 15 delegates in the House of Peoples instead of 6.
