Protest '1 in 5 Million': River of People in Belgrade

(Patria) - The "One in 5 Million" protest is being held in the center of Belgrade. Citizens have filled Studentski trg and Vasina Street, from where they proceeded on a protest march through the city center. The organizers of the protest have added another demand to tonight's list – the dismissal of the Minister of Police, Nebojša Stefanović.

More citizens gathered at tonight's protest than last Saturday. Protest participants blew whistles and carried banners with the inscriptions "There are 5 million of us", "Enough lies, pensioners are hungry", "I am marching, I don't want to leave", "We won't give you our rivers, say no to small hydropower plants"...

First, actor Branislav Trifunović addressed the crowd, telling them that if asked who organized the protest, they should answer (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vučić, because without him, there would be no protest. He expressed support for Davor Dragičević with the cry "Justice for David". Trifunović also thanked the author and host Ivan Ivanović, saying that he showed he was a free man.

Then, journalist Srđan Škoro spoke, wishing the citizens a happy New Year without Vučić.

Desimir Stojanov, president of the Rakita local community, also addressed the crowd, saying that the residents of that village are asking for "only peace and the river". He also stated that they will not allow the investor of the small hydropower plant in that place to pass through his ancestral land.
