A huge storm has been brewing for the past few days, leading to a diplomatic scandal, over a video clip posted on social media. The clip shows two masked men burning Serbian flags in an unknown forest location, reports the Patria News Agency.
Although SIPA Director Perica Stanić announced that an investigation has been opened into this case, and that it will only be known when and where the video was made and who made and first published it after the investigation is completed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia immediately reacted and handed a protest note to the BiH Ambassador in Belgrade due to the controversial video.
-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, pointing out that this is an extremely unacceptable act directed against one of the most important state symbols of the Republic of Serbia, expects the competent authorities of BiH to conduct an urgent investigation "in order to identify the perpetrators of this inappropriate act".
Those responsible are also expected to be punished in accordance with the law, according to the statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia stated in its announcement that it has a special interest in being promptly informed about the progress of this investigation by the competent authorities of Serbia.
A protest note was handed to the BiH Ambassador even though the official police and judicial bodies of our country, as well as the Serbian MFA itself, do not yet know whether the video was made on the territory of BiH and whether the two masked men burning Serbian flags and firing weapons at one point are citizens of BiH!?
The only thing connecting the video and the men to BiH, at this moment when nothing is known, is the former state flag with lilies, which has not been in official use since 1998, and the song heard in the background.
The Patria News Agency has unofficial information from OSA and SIPA that the video was made in March of this year, and that it was posted on his Facebook profile, which (indicatively) was deleted a few days ago, by someone who presents himself as Izet Hamza.
In addition, our sources say, based on the information collected so far, the video was most likely made in a forest in the Sandžak region, and the author could be the person who deleted their FB profile.
Lukač assumes the video was made in BiH
Along with SIPA and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, it has joined the investigation into the published video of the burning of Serbian flags.
-We are trying to get information about where the two masked men were in some part of the BiH forest and carried out the burning of the flags, said Minister Dragan Lukač.
Lukač said that the video is a kind of message to Serbs about what they can expect in these areas from people like them, who apparently may belong to some terrorist organization, adding that it is assumed that the video was made and distributed from the territory of BiH.
