In case the proposal of SDA and HDZ BiH for a "unified city with two municipalities" passes during the vote of MPs on amendments to the Election Law of BiH in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the division of the city on the Neretva River will be definitively cemented, which will have consequences for the organization of the FBiH, as well as for the state of BiH itself, writes the Patria News Agency.
If such a scenario occurs, the renaming of certain streets, for which an agreement has already been signed, would immediately come into effect.
The famous Rondo would be renamed Mate Boban Square, and precisely at that location was the headquarters of the president of HZHB. 14th February Avenue would be renamed Gojko Šušak Avenue.
There is also a plan to erect billboards with the inscription "Welcome to Croatian Mostar," and in the background would be the coat of arms of HZHB from 1993.
It is an open secret that there is also a plan to exhume graves from the cemetery in Liska Park, because if HDZ BiH gets its Croatian municipality, it intends to build a park on that site. A number of Bosniaks, precisely out of fear of the city being split into two ethnic municipalities, have already exhumed the remains of their family members from this cemetery and transferred them to cemeteries in the eastern part of the city.
