Five more people die from coronavirus in Serbia, infection confirmed in 1,624

In the past 24 hours, five more people have died from the coronavirus in Serbia, bringing the total number of deaths to 44. As of 3 p.m. today, a total of 1,624 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection have been registered, announced the director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic, Dr. Goran Stevanović.

All five deceased persons are male, with an average age of 63.2, and all had comorbidities, i.e., multiple other diseases that contributed to the adverse outcome of the illness, as stated on the website Covid19.rs.

Since the last report until 3 p.m. today, samples from 645 persons have been tested, of which 148 were positive.

A total of 1,048 patients are hospitalized, of which 69 are at the Belgrade Fair. 89 patients are on ventilators.

As of 3 p.m., a total of 6,401 persons who met the case definition criteria have been tested in Serbia.
