Serbian PM amused by satirical text about her: "Put a ficus next to Vučić's photo"

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić was amused by a satirical text on the Njuz.net portal, which suggests that a potted ficus should be placed next to the photo of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in state institutions, symbolizing the Prime Minister, or more ficuses symbolizing other members of the Government.

"It's good to laugh at yourself, and this is a seriously good joke," Prime Minister Brnabić stated on her Twitter account, sharing a link to the text.

"One should consider that the President of Serbia is not the only responsible function in the country and that other institutions should not be neglected, such as the function of the Prime Minister, which is also important, in a way. In this regard, I would propose that in all barracks and state institutions, next to Vučić's picture, a ficus be placed to symbolize the function of the Prime Minister," Ana Brnabić believes, wrote satirist Miloš Mileusnić.

The proposal by Serbian Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin to place photos of President Aleksandar Vučić in the official premises of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army was assessed by many as Vulin's mere "flattery" of Vučić, which is inappropriate for modern democratic states that "strive to join the EU." On the other hand, many, including Prime Minister Brnabić, believe that Vučić's picture would strengthen the cult of Serbia's national symbols, reports the Patria agency.
