Prime Minister Orešković Pledged Croatia's Assistance to Bishop Komarica in Strengthening Stability in BiH

Croatian Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković met with Banja Luka Bishop Franjo Komarica on Friday at Banski dvori, writes Patria.

Komarica and Orešković discussed, among other things, the problems of Croats in Republika Srpska. Komarica told Prime Minister Orešković that the authorities of Republika Srpska are preventing the reconstruction of houses for Croats who wish to return to their pre-war homes.

The remaining indigenous Croats, who constitute about five percent of the pre-war population in RS, are mostly elderly people. They are mainly cared for by Caritas of the Banja Luka Diocese.

- They receive almost no political or legal assistance - said Bishop Komarica.

Orešković stated that the Government of Croatia will give full support to Bosnia and Herzegovina's entry into the European Union. This is a particularly important issue for the stability and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. One way of this support will be joint cooperation on projects of common interest, for which it is possible to draw funds from European funds. This, it was concluded during the meeting, will contribute to a better life for Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well, writes Patria.
