Sever Contact and Cooperation with Serbia: Shameful Conference 'Was Sarajevo a Besieged City?' Held in Belgrade

(Patria) - Associations of victims and witnesses of genocide reacted to the shameful conference held in Belgrade titled: „Was Sarajevo a besieged city?

"Those who lie about the siege of Sarajevo and about Markale, those who lie that the genocide in Srebrenica did not happen and that Bosniaks killed themselves, those who still today hide the destroyers of Banja Luka mosques, and who will probably (when the need arises) blame Bosniaks for that as well, those who deceive their own people that the rs entity is a state, are ready for every possible lie, deception, but also a new possible crime. Therefore, we believe that the state authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina should initiate activities to sever contacts with the Republic of Serbia until it accepts the verdicts and facts established by the verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

We also demand that the EU and the US finally take decisive diplomatic and other measures aimed at protecting the international legal order which the Republic of Serbia has been undermining and threatening since the 1990s.

We recall the 2018 EU Parliament Resolution: "The EU Parliament recalls that full cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the Mechanism that succeeded it also includes full acceptance and implementation of its judgments and decisions. Emphasizes that recognition of the genocide in Srebrenica is a fundamental step on Serbia's path to EU accession". The European Parliament resolution was adopted with 503 votes in favor, 85 against, and 47 abstentions", the statement reads.
