Presidency of BiH requests Croatia to exclude Trgovska gora as a site for nuclear waste

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina today adopted a conclusion that Bosnia and Herzegovina requests the Republic of Croatia to exclude the Trgovska gora location, Municipality of Dvor, Republic of Croatia, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a site designated for the disposal and storage of radioactive and nuclear waste, and to secure another adequate location for these purposes on its territory, which is not near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the BiH Presidency.

The second conclusion is that the Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on behalf of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will send a letter to the President and Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, informing them of the aforementioned request of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The third conclusion tasks the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina to inform the member states of the European Union and international organizations dealing with environmental protection issues about the aforementioned issue and the request of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the diplomatic-consular representations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The last, fourth conclusion states: "The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina will, within its jurisdiction, insist on the full protection of all rights that belong to Bosnia and Herzegovina under the rules and norms of international law on this issue.".
