The bolts on the wheels of the car belonging to the President of the Croatian Journalists' Association Saša Leković were sawn through, causing them to break while driving. Fortunately, Leković remained unharmed, writes the BH News Agency Patria.
Leković said that his car 'went crazy' in the middle of the highway on Thursday afternoon. The mechanics quickly discovered that the bolts on the wheels of Leković's car had been sawn halfway through. They could hold for a while, but they were bound to fail one day.
- I managed to stop it in the emergency lane and realized that my front right wheel was crooked and the front plastic bumper was torn from its mount. Since the car is old, my first thought was that it was the cause. However, I have an excellent car mechanic who has been 'working' on my cars for almost 25 years, and the car had passed its technical inspection and registration about twenty days ago, so nothing really made sense to me – Leković wrote on his official Facebook profile.
- They towed me to the nearest serious car mechanic. After some time, the man informed me that he had determined that two bolts on the right front wheel had been sawn halfway through and that this had caused them to break after 300 kilometers of driving – Leković added. He said that this was not the first time someone had 'played' with the bolts on his car's wheels.
