Croatian President stated: No changes to Dayton without our consent

(Patria) - The President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, gave a lecture today to students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Opatija, after which he also answered students' questions.

When asked about what he sees as security problems for Croatia, Milanović warned about the constant changes in the functioning of the European Union.

- This is not a security problem that threatens our survival, but it threatens the disruption of the system we have only recently joined. We are constantly in a process of change.

Half of the European Parliament - including some of my former associates - voted to change the Constitution of the European Union. We haven't even gotten used to it, and we're already going into changes.

Normally, the story doesn't come through formal channels, but the big players, who see us as small Lego bricks, say that the principle of unanimity in making some EU decisions is being abolished.

Speaking about the security situation in Croatia's environment, Milanović highlighted the position of Croats in BiH.

- In BiH, we have unfinished business, and that does not mean we are interested in territory, not at all. The status of the Croatian people in BiH is something regulated by the Dayton Agreement, or rather the power-sharing agreement, and that is the "golden bull" that should be adhered to.

Do not philosophize every five years about how it should be changed. No, it should not be changed because that is a pretext for war. There will be no changes to Dayton without our consent. It cannot happen - Milanović emphasized.
