Trial for war crimes in the village of Kravica continues before the Higher Court in Belgrade today

BELGRADE, (Patria) - The trial in the case of Nedeljko Milidragović and others, accused of war crimes in the Bratunac village of Kravica, will continue today before the Special Department for War Crimes of the Higher Court in Belgrade.

In this case, the accused are Milidragović Nedeljko, as commander of the 2nd platoon of the 1st company of the Jahorina Training Center of the Special Police Brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, Batinica Milivoje, Dačević Aleksandar, Miletić Boro, Petrović Jovan, and Parović Dragomir as members of that platoon, and Golijanin Aleksa and Vasić Vidoslav as members of the 1st platoon of the 1st company of the Jahorina Center.

They are accused of violating the rules of international law on July 14, 1995, inside, in front of, and in the immediate vicinity of the agricultural cooperative hangar in the village of Kravica (hereinafter Hangar Kravica), municipality of Bratunac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, against the civilian population and persons not directly participating in hostilities, Bosnian Muslim men, accused Milidragović ordered members of the 2nd platoon, including the accused Batinica Milivoje, Dačević Aleksandar, Miletić Boro, Petrović Jovan, and Parović Dragomir, as well as certain members of the 1st platoon of the 1st company of the Jahorina Center, including the accused Golijanin Aleksa and Vasić Vidoslav, to commit and committed murders of civilians, and the accused Golijanin, Batinica, Dačević, Miletić, Parović, Petrović, and Vasić committed murders of civilians, namely mass executions of several hundred civilians - Bosnian Muslim men.

What makes this case interesting is that the indictment was annulled on August 4, 2017, but the Court of Appeals overturned that decision on September 19 and decided that the proceedings should continue.

According to the members of the victims' associations, who follow almost every hearing, it often happens that hearings are canceled due to the non-appearance of the accused and other procedural reasons.

The trial began on December 12, 2016.
