Agreement on Colocation Signed with the Republic of Macedonia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Crnadak, is participating in the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Western Balkan countries (WB6) held from March 30 to 31, 2016, in Durrës, Republic of Albania.

The meeting summarizes the results of project activities eight months after the Vienna Summit and discusses the preparation of regional transport and energy projects for the Paris Summit in July this year. The focus of the discussion is also on issues of regional cooperation, the establishment of the Fund for the Western Balkans and the Regional Youth Cooperation Office, and migration policy.

On the first day of the meeting in Durrës, Minister Crnadak had numerous bilateral meetings, which are part of the minister's diplomatic activities after submitting the application for BiH's membership in the European Union.

Minister Crnadak and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Poposki, signed the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia on the colocation of diplomatic-consular representations. Ministers Crnadak and Poposki assessed that this agreement, in addition to being an indicator of advanced bilateral relations between BiH and Macedonia, enables practical solutions in the work of the existing diplomatic-consular networks of the two countries. Mutual support of the two countries on their European path was also highlighted, and the interest in cooperation in the field of European integration was emphasized.

On the sidelines of the meeting in Durrës, Minister Crnadak also spoke with the State Secretary for European Affairs of the French Republic, Harlem Désir, who informed him about the preparations for the Summit in Paris on July 4, 2016. The possibility of a meeting between the two foreign ministers, which would provide an additional impetus for further improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as France's support for BiH's European path, was discussed.

At the meeting with the Deputy State Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy, Vincenzo Amendola, Minister Crnadak emphasized the expectation for the continuation of Italy's active and positive relationship towards BiH. The interlocutors assessed that exchanges of visits at high and highest levels, planned for the next two months, will also contribute to achieving better relations and greater economic cooperation between the two countries.
