MESSAGE FROM PRISTINA Kurti: These are the six conditions for forming the Community of Serb Municipalities

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - While a special session of the Assembly on Kosovo is being held in Belgrade, Pristina also gathered its deputies today. The Serbian parliament is attended by President Aleksandar Vučić, and the Kosovo parliament by Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Both touched on the topic of the Community of Serb Municipalities from their podiums. While Vučić states that there is nothing more to "agree and negotiate" on this issue, but fears that the other side still refuses to form it, Kurti today listed his six conditions for its formation before the deputies, Nova.rs reports.

Speaking about the previous meetings organized with American mediation, he stated that he has continuously emphasized his commitment to reaching an agreement on the Franco-German proposal as soon as possible: "I am ready to contribute with maximum constructiveness," he added.

The tenth point of the proposal, as he reiterated today, concerns the implementation of the agreement, which includes the Community of Serb Municipalities.

Today he also repeated that any preconditions for progress are "meaningless," but also that the Community resulting from the agreement led by Ivica Dačić and Hashim Thaçi must have certain conditions, and there are six of them:

1. It must be in accordance with the Constitution and applicable laws.

2. The Community cannot be of the same nationality, must change its name, cannot have a board, and should only serve horizontal cooperation of municipalities under the Law on Local Self-Government.

3. The rights of national minorities and appropriate protection mechanisms should be based on the principle of reciprocity between the two states.

4. Before the establishment of the Community, illegal structures in the north must be dismantled and all illegal weapons handed over.

5. The Community is part of the final agreement and is implemented after mutual recognition.

6. The President of Serbia withdraws letters sent to EU member states regarding the non-acceptance of the Republic of Kosovo into the EU.

The opposition, however, criticized him on the issue of the Community, emphasizing today's date as the day Kurti decided to accept it, but that his problem is how to explain it to the deputies.

Such an opinion was provoked by the fact that, while on one hand Kurti presents conditions for it, today he never denied that he would completely reject the Community.
