(Patria) - The policy of concessions to violent individuals does not solve the Kosovo, Montenegrin, and Bosnian drama is the topic of Krug 99, and the introducer Azem Vlasi pointed out that the same dangers from Serbia are lurking today, only they cannot achieve what they started earlier.
"Fortunately for us, who are around it, who are constantly being attacked, for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo. The luck is that Serbia can no longer and must not attack anyone by force," he said.
Vlasi, a politician and publicist, also said that recently the relations between Serbia and Kosovo have again been in the focus of the public.
"Kosovo is not now in the center of attention due to some internal problems and tensions because in Kosovo there are no internal tensions and problems, nor are there inter-ethnic ones. Peace in Kosovo is maintained by citizens, both Albanians and Serbs and all others, because peace and stability are necessary for them to live better and to live normally. The tension is raised a little by Belgrade, the authorities of Serbia, with the aim of constantly keeping Kosovo in focus as a crisis point, as a crisis area, as an unresolved issue, because Serbia does not recognize Kosovo's independence," said Vlasi.
He recalled that two months ago, Belgrade raised tensions over the license plate regime, and later over the regime of crossing the border in both directions with ID cards.
"Aleksandar Vučić talks about how a persecution and pogrom against Serbs in Kosovo is being prepared, but nothing is happening there because no one in Kosovo is interested in disturbing the peace and inter-ethnic relations," he said.
Vlasi then commented on events in the past and the role of the United States of America and Western allies in the Balkan region.
"The suffering in Bosnia and Herzegovina was stopped by America together with its European allies. It established peace because who knows what else would have happened in Bosnia. The Dayton Agreement incorporated some specificities for BiH but preserved the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a unique, indivisible, and independent state. America also helped Kosovo become a state. In Serbia, they still promote that issue and talk about Kosovo as the southern Serbian province, about a fake state, about how it unilaterally declared independence, etc.," said this prominent Kosovo politician and publicist.
He then recalled the opinion of the International Court of Justice which states that the declaration of independence of Kosovo is not in violation of international law and Resolution 1244.
"Today, the same dangers from Serbia are lurking, only they cannot achieve what they started then, fortunately for us, who are around it, who are constantly being attacked, for Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo. The luck is that Serbia can no longer and must not attack anyone by force. We need to build our internal unity and cohesion and establish better cooperation among ourselves. It is equally in Serbia's interest as it is in the interest of all of us around it to have normally regulated mutual relations. Serbia avoids a final agreement because in that agreement there should be a regulation of mutual relations between Serbia and Kosovo as two independent and sovereign states, and when the formal recognition in the form of a declaration by Serbia, that is, mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia, will happen, that is again a question of time," said Vlasi.
