The BiH Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Sabrin Mečević, born on 12/13/1988 in Doboj, residing in Maglaj, a BiH citizen, previously convicted, who is accused of attempting to transport a larger quantity of weapons and ammunition from BiH to the Republic of Croatia in April of this year, across the customs line, at the Brod Border Crossing Point, namely 5 automatic rifles, 4 pistols of different makes and calibers, more than 400 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, and other equipment, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
According to the indictment, the accused transported weapons, equipment, and ammunition in a purpose-built compartment, in the floor of the vehicle he was driving, which was noticed by BiH Border Police officers during the control, inspection, and search of the vehicle, during which the aforementioned weapons, ammunition, and equipment were confiscated.
The accused Mečević is charged with committing the criminal offense of unauthorized trafficking of weapons, military equipment, or dual-use products under Article 193, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment has been forwarded to the BiH Court for confirmation.
