Under the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Plan: Lieutenant General of the Croatian Army arrives in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Based on the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia,
Lieutenant General Siniša Jurković, from 9 to 10 November 2022, is visiting the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Operations, Major General Ivica Jerkić, on his own behalf, as well as on behalf of Lieutenant General Senad Mašović, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Major General Gojko Knežević, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Resources, welcomed the guest and emphasized the successful cooperation between the ministries of defence and armed forces of the two countries.

During the official meeting, discussions were held on the successful cooperation in the field of education of members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina at military academies in the Republic of Croatia, as well as on the contribution of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the education of international students at centres in our country, such as the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) and the Centre for Mine Action and Unexploded Ordnance Disposal. 

General Jurković thanked for the invitation and welcome, highlighting the strong ties and successful cooperation between the operational centres of the two armies, particularly in the context of assisting civilian structures in the event of natural and other disasters, with the wish that cooperation continues in the coming period. Jurković congratulated the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the successful completion of the operational capability assessment of the Battalion Battle Group in September 2022.

Afterwards, the Head of the Strategy and Plans Department of the Policy and Plans Directorate of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brigadier Hazim Hodžić, informed those present about the activities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and plans for the upcoming period.
